Koibito
(Sweetheart) 1
Do you have a sweetheart?
That is, do you think there's someone you'd like to embrace?
Don't you wish for more?
Don't you feel it's natural?
Surely when there are two people (together), due to various things overlapping
A miracle is born
A second, a minute, an hour, a day will be lived with my sweetheart
You're my boyfriend And I'm your girlfriend 2
Right now, do you have a sweetheart?
That is to say, is there only one person with whom your heart is at ease?
Don't you wish for more?
Don't you feel it's natural?
Surely when there are two people (together), due to various things overlapping
A miracle is born
Yesterday, today, tomorrow, a lifetime will be lived with my sweetheart
You're my boyfriend And I'm your girlfriend
Translator's notes:
1. I translated this as "sweetheart", though it can also mean
"lover".
2. "kimi ha atashi no koibito, atashi ha kimi no koibito" could (and likely should) be translated as
"You’re my lover/sweetheart and I’m your lover/sweetheart" to keep up the repetition, but that doesn’t sound as nice in English to me.
